My blog 'art form' is evolving....and as I add elements...things will inevitably change
Today I have added three elements, my own 'Musings & Reflections' and 'The poetry of Tim Murray', who I will write about soon.

This is the second time these birds have used
this nest. It is very close to our house and
obviously away from the marauding Currawongs

All those 1's and 2's.... I suppose that's better than being at 6's or 7's...just wait till later in the year when it will be 20-12-2012...hopes that's your birthday....
Pearl posted this comment today:
lets hope that 20/12/2012 is nothing more than an amusing sequence of numbers rather than the second last day before the end of the world - as some people predict! Notoriously 21/12/2012 is the last date in the ancient Mayan calendar and some people believe that it will be the end of existence for humans....

On 28 April Tim Blashki drove me, Dick Johnson and another retired psychiatrist friend, Michael, to his seaside home at Mount Martha to enjoy a painting day ‘en plein air’. It was a perfect day and in the course of the afternoon I sat on the steps of a colourful bathing box and penned this little poem.
as the sea glistens in silent celebration of the mid-day sun,
and fishing boats lie easy;
as sleek gulls lull in blissful idleness,
and slow ships hover on the horizon;
as lovers linger in the tingling shallows,
and bask in each other’s arms;
as bees cruise, circle, settle, and cruise again,
and a puppy scampers on urgent missions easily abandoned;
as retired Turners paint masterpieces in their dreams and brightly coloured bathing boxes,
and all is languid and delicious –
if God created the sand and sea and sky,
then God saw that it was very good.

The Day's Postscript
- I worked on my art work on and off today - it is called 'Riding on the Sheep's Back II'. It is a complex work and I am experimenting almost constantly with acrylic painting techniques. The art work is no where near finished. The image below is one section of the artwork.

This lamb is to be translucent and requires
the application of thick gel and glazes. |
- Pearl has been working on her art work 'Abigail' today. The tonal work on this work is sensational - see her blog post on Abigail for images and comments.
- My blog continues to evolve. Maybe I will use a set format on my posts and pages. This way I can identify 'focus areas' which will help direct my blog comments. Today's format is something I have in mind.
- Bill Burdin a close friend of mine from Canberra has suggested that John Townsend (who almost self-amputated his hand using a ride-on mower and is still 'kissing his hand' because he still has it) should read this Motor Mower Safety Manual.
Darling lets hope that 20/12/2012 is nothing more than an amusing sequence of numbers rather than the second last day before the end of the world - as some people predict! Notoriously 21/12/2012 is the last date in the ancient Mayan calendar and some people believe that it will be the end of existence for humans....
